Red dots are growing in popularity for duty and concealed-carry pistols due to speed and target acquisition benefits. This intensive, performance-focused course transitions students from iron sights to red dot-equipped pistols with practical drills emphasizing dot acquisition, recoil tracking, reloads, and low-light considerations. Live-fire exercises and progressive stressors build reliable, repeatable skills. Course Objectives (what you’ll be able to do) -Explain RDS advantages, limitations, and maintenance needs. -Properly mount, zero, and set brightness for a pistol RDS. -Acquire the dot reliably on presentation and track the dot through recoil. -Re-acquire the dot rapidly after reloads and malfunctions. -Apply brightness/dot-wash techniques for low-light environments. -Demonstrate safe storage and basic RDS troubleshooting. Assessment & Completion Successful completion requires safe firearms handling through the course, demonstration of dot acquisition on presentation, and successful completion of drills to instructor standard. Certificate of Completion provided.
